Dream in Color

When you think of a diamond, you likely imagine a virtually clear stone. Diamonds come in every color and shade you can dream of: red, pink, yellow, blue and even black. Do not limit your love to just one color. What colors do you dream in?

Black Diamonds

Single solitaire black diamonds embody strong character. Their rare color is due to dark inclusions within, usually made up of graphite. These unique stones get their inky, dark and essentially opaque color from safe enhancements using irradiation and heat.

A black diamond represents style, and sophistication. The person wearing one is a person of elegance, and exquisite taste. A combination of black and colorless diamonds enhance the beauty of both gemstones while creating a balance between classic, conventional and modern styles.

Yellow Diamonds

Like the captivating beauty of a finch during the first touch of spring, or the gracefulness of a singing canary, a yellow diamond simply dazzles.

Yellow diamonds have garnered stature within pop culture amongst celebrities; we often see them featured in our favorite television programs. The vast majority of all diamonds contain some nitrogen. To form a yellow diamond, nitrogen atoms present at formation group themselves in very specific ways. Those atoms absorb blue light, which produces a yellow color.

Weighing 110.03 carats, the pear-shaped Sun-Drop Diamond is a gorgeous yellow diamond discovered in 2010 in South Africa. It was sold in a Sotheby’s auction the following year in Geneva for just over $10.9 million.

Pink Diamonds

Pink isn’t simply a color for little girls anymore. In diamonds, pink represents sophistication, independence and romance of the most captivating kind. These enchanting stones come primarily from Australia, range from the palest and faintest soft hues to bright, and vivid in color.

The rare, hot pink color is particularly alluring. The more intense the color, the higher the value of the gem. Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey dazzle the world drenched in pink diamonds with elegance, femininity and mystique.

Blue Diamonds

Among the rarest of all diamonds – the cool, charming beauty of a blue diamond glistens like the high seas. These highly sought after diamonds owe their color to the activity of boron particles at formation.

The most famous of all, the Hope Diamond, is a blue diamond which resides at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. Its formation is estimated at approximately 1.1 billion years ago, and is believed to be from India.

Cognac Diamonds

Warm, dark, rich and exotic, nothing entices like a cognac diamond. The darkest and rarest of the champagne diamond family, a cognac diamond’s deep, earthy hues make them absolute eye-catchers.

The warmth and silent ferocity of these gemstones make them a perfect focal point for earrings, pendants, rings and necklaces. Worn alone, or complementing other white or colored diamonds, the cognac diamond maintains a level of timelessness of fashion and style.
